ADRIAN POKHAREL
Founder and executive director
Adrian Pokharel is the founder, Executive Director, and Chair of the United Nepali Political Action Committee (UNPAC). A dedicated advocate for the Nepali American community, Adrian has a diverse background in military intelligence, strategic security, and public service. As a former Democratic candidate for Congress in Virginia’s 10th District, he has been a powerful voice for his community, championing their rights and interests.
Adrian is a former CIA officer, with experience in high-level intelligence and security roles. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Strategic Security and holds an M.A. in Intelligence Studies, a B.S. in Finance, and an A.A. in Business Administration. His career also includes key positions with U.S. government agencies, such as a Veterans Outreach and Recruitment Program Manager and Digital Targeting Officer, as well as his work with USCYBERCOM and the NSA in digital network analysis, malware detection, and cyber intelligence.
Beyond his professional achievements, Adrian is a mental health advocate and co-owner of Healing Together, an emotional and mental health support business. As a disabled veteran, he is passionate about promoting mental wellness and increasing access to essential mental health services. He also co-owns BiStream LLC, a company providing various services, including digital media and community outreach.
Fluent in Nepali, Hindi, and Urdu, Adrian is committed to fostering political engagement and cultural understanding among Nepali Americans. Through his leadership at UNPAC and entrepreneurial ventures, he strives to build bridges between communities, promote diversity and inclusion, and ensure that the voices of Nepali Americans are represented in the U.S. political landscape.
